rimworldOkay so we are several expansions deep at this point in the game, and I was just wondering, what does everyone want to see for the next one??
There's not a ton of areas of the game that remain untouched at this point! When I think about what still needs some love, or what still feels like it is missing from the game, I keep coming back to INTRIGUE. Lies, deception, secrets. Like, there's still no concept of secrets among your colonists—the closest we have are the metalhorrors from Anomaly.
No, right now, as soon as something happens in your colony, everyone instantly knows about it and reacts to it. So I would love some kind of secret keeping or intrigue mechanic! I feel like this kind of thing would go very well with an expansion on diplomacy as well, which is one of the main game systems that could really use an update I feel!
Also, I know that when thinking about expansions, the dev team has said that they ask themselves what elements make good stories. That's one of the reasons we got child pawns in Biotech! They knew that stories often involve families so they wanted families in the game. ♥ And intrigue also makes for good stories!
ANOTHER thing I'd love in this hypothetical DLC would be a diplomatic endgame scenario. Like something where you can unite all of the factions and make the rimworld a decent place to stay would be cool! (I'm often way too attached to my colony to want to leave the planet anyway.)
AND FINALLY I also think there is a lot that could still be done with water and the oceans, though I don't necessarily have any specific ideas on that.
